Sex trafficking isn’t always what we imagine. It isn’t just a problem in distant cities or foreign countries; it can exist in our own neighborhoods, schools, churches, and communities, often concealed behind ordinary circumstances, familiar faces, and seemingly trustworthy relationships.
Contrary to popular belief, trafficking doesn’t always involve strangers, kidnappings, or physical captivity. Instead, victims are often exploited through manipulation, deception, coercion, and misplaced trust.
The unsettling truth is that sex trafficking may be closer than we think. The question isn’t simply whether we’re looking, but whether we recognize what we’re seeing.
Sometimes the greatest dangers aren’t hidden from view. They’re hidden by our assumptions.
